Specialty Slabs
AmWd offers a variety of slabs for many woodworking needs. Typically the wood is rough sawn to 8/4, 12/4, and 16/4, allowed to air-dry 6-12 months, and finally kiln dried. Inventory includes slabs of several different species, including ambrosia maple, walnut, oak, ash, cypress, river birch, cherry and more. We recommend that you stop by during normal business hours to browse our inventory with one of our staff, or call for pricing and availability.
Custom Lumber
We offer a variety of custom cut lumber. Local North Carolina is our primary source for logs and we personally select the logs that we cut. We offer kiln-dried, air-dried, and green lumber. Cut on-site, our products are used for cabinets, furniture, fencing, trailer beds, and many other wood- working needs. We also provide a variety of beams, brackets, corbels, decking, and specialized flooring. A 50% deposit is required on all custom lumber orders. Please come by during business hours or call with inqueries/orders.
Fireplace Mantels
American Woodyards offers a large variety of custom mantels. For the local customer, it is advised for you to come browse and choose a slab which suits your taste. From this point, the piece can be purchased for personal finishing, or given the specs, it can be finished here in our on-site woodworking shop. We do have several display mantels at the yard available for viewing.
For out of town interest, we try our best to capture images of slabs of interest and work with customers via phone and e-mail.
Firewood (Pickup/local delivery only)
Thank you for your interest in our firewood. Our firewood is split from red oak, white oak, and hickory logs. We have seasoned and green, all split on a processor to lengths of 16"-18". We offer delivery of true full cords as well as true half cords and are able to deliver up to 2 cords at one time. If interested in smaller amounts, we also sell firewood by the pound at the woodyard. Simply pull up and we will weigh your vehicle. Feel free to load as much as you would like into your vehicle and reweigh. We also offer exclusive split hickory intended for food smoking.
